Google Calendar

Open Account and find the Google Calendar card. Hit Connect Google Calendar, pick the Google account you use in the studio, and allow it. You come straight back to Account and the card says it is connected.

CREATIVE // ENGINE makes one new calendar in your Google account - CREATIVE // ENGINE - Appointments - and puts your bookings on it. It never writes to any calendar you already had. Turn it on and off in Google like any other calendar, and see it on your phone, your watch, wherever Google Calendar goes.

Every appointment you book, move, or cancel in CREATIVE // ENGINE shows up on that calendar within seconds, with the client’s phone, email, Instagram and project in the event - so what you need in the chair is on your phone without opening the app. A cancellation or no-show takes the event off.

Drag one of those events to a new day or time in Google Calendar and the booking moves in CREATIVE // ENGINE too - the calendar on Projects and the client’s record both update. Only the when comes back: the client, the title and the notes are always yours here.

It takes a few seconds, or up to an hour if Google is slow to tell us - either way, nothing is lost.

Delete one of those events in Google and the booking is not cancelled behind your back. A Changed in Google Calendar panel appears above the calendar on Projects and asks: Cancel Booking, Put It Back in Google, or Keep Booking here anyway. Same if you add an event to that calendar by hand - it has no client behind it, so it just points it out.

Nothing else in your Google Calendar is read or changed - not your other calendars, not their events. The only other thing it asks Google is whether a time is busy, so a booking can warn you before it lands on top of something. That permission returns start and end times only - no titles, no names.

Disconnect any time from the same card on Account. The calendar and everything already on it stay in your Google account, under your control. The full wording is in the Privacy Policy, section 17.
